Toronto,ON- Another week, another podcast here on 49 Sports! This week is a special one, as we welcome a couple of guests to the show. Jasmine Yen, one of our hockey writers joins the show to talk about U SPORTS. women’s hockey, and also talk about how the new Toronto NWHL team could possibly effect U SPORTS. Other than hockey, the team takes a look at the Ryerson Rams new head coach for basketball, some of the U SPORTS players who have ended up in the NFL and even talked about famous U SPORTS student-athletes on TikTok.
Our other guest is Olympic gold medalist in women’s hockey, Melodie Daoust, who formerly played with the McGill Martlets and is the current assistant coach of the Montreal Carabins. Daoust spent five years at McGill, and then went on to play in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. A two time Olympian, Daoust currently resides in Montreal where she is a member of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association.
