HALIFAX, NS – The AUS is fully back in action next week, with all 11 universities returning to play by Feb. 18.
Sources said Thursday morning the conference will release its revised schedules for the remainder of the 2021-22 season today. The schedule is expected to include information on the remainder of regular season play in each sport, as well as details on playoffs.
Play in New Brunswick resumes tomorrow with all four of the province’s women’s hockey teams- the UNB Reds, St. Thomas Tommies, Moncton Aigles Bleues and Mount Allison Mounties- hitting the ice. UNB and Moncton’s men’s hockey and women’s volleyball squads will square off Saturday.
There hasn’t been any action in the conference since the first week of December when play was paused for the holiday break.
The announcement will come in light of provinces’ plans to gradually reopen over the next few months. While New Brunswick teams will be permitted to play tomorrow, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador announced this week games will be permitted starting Feb. 14. Prince Edward Island intends to ease restrictions on play Feb. 17.
More to come.
